About
Mavis Teo is an editor-at-large at Prestige Singapore. She also freelances across titles such as South China Morning Post, DestinAsian, The Straits Times, The Peak, Business Times, The Star, The New Paper and Robb Report.
Mavis Teo also selectively consults for hospitality businesses on media strategy and outreach, and content.
Her writing career began in Singapore Press Holdings straight after graduating with honours from law school. Although she later left to work in public relations, and later banking and finance, she eventually picked up the pen again upon realising that life is too short to be away from her first love: Writing.
Her varied experiences and a thirst for learning have allowed Mavis to gain access to a myriad worldly cultures and diverse genres. They have honed her ability to understand new concepts, connect and adapt comfortably to people from different backgrounds; and to appreciate the nuances of human experiences. As a result, her editorial work is thoughtful and insightful.
Though her focus is travel, the intrepid explorer also writes about scuba diving, boating and equestrianism – her pet topic as she is an avid horse rider.
